Three years ago, Dr Elizabeth Weir was given the chance of a lifetime.

The President himself asked her to take command of a top-secret military program to explore the galaxy using an alien transportation device called the Stargate. Her tenure was brief, but opened her eyes to a universe of possibilities.

Shortly after she was reassigned, she assembled an expedition team to go through the Stargate to another galaxy. Their mission was to find the lost alien city of Atlantis.

They succeeded.


Before she joined the Stargate Program, Elizabeth lived in Washington, D. C. with her fiancé, Simon, and her dog. She was a diplomat, known for her high-level treaty negotiations for the United Nations. She also taught political science at Georgetown University. She originally made her name as a political activist campaigning against military expenditure, and developed a reputation for her distrust of the military.

She's spent three years living under the constant threat of an enemy that wants nothing more than to enslave all of humanity. That's taught her that sometimes, negotiation isn't an option.


She still prefers to use words rather than weapons.


Elizabeth stands 5' 8", with wavy brown hair and green eyes. Her build is slim, but she carries herself with confidence. She's an intelligent and compassionate leader, with a strong sense of right and wrong. She sometimes thinks with her heart, not her head.

But she's nobody's puppet. She's a tough, shrewd negotiator, and she's not afraid to take the hard decisions when she must. She's very close to the people under her command, and she'd do anything to ensure their safety and that of the city she's long since come to think of as home.


She likes to fall asleep to the sound of the ocean.
